Pelican English Learning was created by John Everett for use at Pelican English School in Nagoya, Japan, as well as for other schools.
John was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been studying languages, reading, and writing for several decades. While still in Nevada, John taught violin, did English tutoring, and worked as a substitute teacher in high schools.
Since coming to Japan, John has taught at a middle school, a preschool, an international school, an English conversation school, and a juku (“cram school”), as well as teaching monthly English lessons at church. He has experience teaching not only every age level, but also many different kinds of classes including conversation, Business English, TOEFL, Eiken, and more.
Throughout the years, John has learned the most effective ways to teach language and created PEL specifically to address the many shortcomings he saw in other curricula.
John currently resides in Hyougo-ken with his wife.
